Question: what can i do if insurance company does not respond?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Send a letter.

Answer #2:

Send a letter asking for a timely response. Make sure you state in that letter that you will contact your state's department of insurance if you do not get one.
6 months with no communication is unacceptable.

Answer #3:

Speak to a lawyer.some give free advice time.

Answer #4:

The easy way to handle this- contact your home owners insurance company and file a claim with them. Your deductible will apply.

However, your homeowners company will then subrogate the car's insurance. That means, your homeowners company will go after the car's insurance company for repayment. They will collect the money they paid and your deductible. Once they get paid by the car's insurance company they will forward your deductible to you.

In the mean time, you've gotten your wall fixed and moved on with life.
