Disclosure History

AHMED JABARI HUNTER has 2 Disclosure Event(s).

Date: August 18, 2010
Category: Financial
Type: Bankruptcy
Disposition: Discharged
Broker Comment: The initial cause of my financial hardship was my severe income loss in early 2007 as a mortgage loan officer resulting from the severely declining mortgage industry. My misfortune continued when the mortgage firm for which I worked went out of business in early 2008 due to the economic recession and collapsed real estate market. On account of this unfortunate circumstance, I transitioned into the insurance and retirement planning side of the financial services industry. For three years, while rebuilding my financial services career, I was able to use my cash reserves and lines of credit to pay my personal and real estate investment obligations on time. However, I was still heavily invested in real estate, unable to qualify for modifications, and significantly under water. The combination of these circumstances qualified me to file for chapter 7 bankruptcy, which was highly recommended by my attorney. Against my reservations and desire to pay all of my obligations as I had done until this point, I decided to file chapter 7 bankruptcy in order to maintain my remaining real estate properties and investment accounts. This is why I filed bankruptcy in August 2010, which was later discharged in November 2010. Since then, I have recovered from these events as well as reestablished and maintained excellence in my personal finances.

Date: July 17, 1998
Category: Criminal
Charges: Felony Possession of Cocaine
Disposition: Dismissed
Broker Comment: On July 17th 1998, at the age of 21, I accepted a ride home from a 22 year old former schoolmate who was driving his father's Mercedes. While riding home at around 4pm, we were profiled and pulled over by police. During this time, the police searched the vehicle and observed what they thought was cocaine in the trunk and we were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. It was later determined that there was no cocaine in the car and my charges were dismissed on August 7th, 1998.
