I moved in with my Mother and my husband remained in the house. This property was purchased solely in my name in 2007. A new mortgage company I was working, with made an error in the paperwork, resulting in my home owners insurance being cancelled. To make matters worse, as I was trying to correct the mistake made by the mortgage company, the pipes burst in the house resulting in major damage for which I had no insurance to cover the loss. Compounding the financial difficulties, my husband, who was living in the house as stated, stopped working leaving the entire financial burden on my shoulders. I tried to make the mortgage payments as well as pay for the repairs to make the house livable again all while trying to resolve the issues with the insurance company. The divorce was finalized and my now ex-husband continued not to help provide any financial assistance whatsoever. I continued to try my best to make the payments but was financially unable and thus the pre-foreclosure filing.
