Broker Comment: During this time, we had a lot of family emergencies. My husband got very ill and had emergency surgery. My mother which has demenia also became ill. She lives out of town so I went to stay with her. The Lendmark office called several times but I thought I would take care of my bills when I returned home. They called my home which I was not there. I called them when returning home and made 2 payments so that I satisfied the current and the next monthes payment. I was never told that they filed anything against me. I was shocked when I received notification and immediately called them. Asked Kelly why would paperwork be filed when account is current. She said that the attorney did not know the payment was made and she would have it dismissed. I was also upset when I received the letter in the mail after the judgement. Again account was current. Called and talked to the office manager and he said he would take care of it and contact the attorney to dismiss. I never heard anything from them, account was current and Nothing was showing on my credit report other than the 30 day late. I have a current balance of $1918.00 left and I have it setup on autopayments so that this will not happen again. I do not feel that it was fair for them to file when the account was made current and was only a little over 30 days late.
