Date: August 19, 2015 Category: Criminal Charges: Possession of Cocaine Disposition: Dismissed Broker Comment: In September of 2014, I was the designated driver after the South Carolina v Georgia football game driving four of my friends back to Athens, GA from Columbia,SC. We were stopped at a police checkpoint, and one of my passengers was arrested for being found with narcotics in his wallet. I had absolutely no knowledge that he had drugs on his person, and he was taken to jail that night, but the rest of us were not arrested or charged and were free to leave the scene. Upon the court date some months later of the passenger who was arrested, he pled not guilty, meaning the rest of the passengers would have to come to court. The passenger originally arrested for narcotics ultimately accepted a plea deal with the court of MacDuffie for what was unequivocally his charge to bear, and the rest of our charges were dismissed.
