Broker Comment: After deciding I could not afford to maintain my personal residence I decided to move out since I could not sell it. It was worth substancially less than what my mortgage balance. I rented an apartment and found a renter for the property. After a while the tenants could not afford to stay there and moved out. The house was vacant and I could not find another tenant to offset the mortgage payment. I asked Citi-Mortgage for help and I was able to settle with them for less than I owed. Final terms were a payment of $10,000 to pay off the second mortgage on the property. I still had the first mortgage that was eventually satisfied with the sale of the house in 2014. I no longer own the property.

Broker Comment: The housing crisis of 2008 caused issues with renters and affordability with the investment property with Wells Fargo Bank. After 3 short sale attempts and 1 died in lieu attempt I had no other choices but to release the property back to the bank. I was declined all my attempts to resolve the matter. I was also part of a class action law suit against WFB for unfair consumer practices. The house needed more repairs than it was worth on the current real estate market. This year I was contacted by a debt collecter (Stawiarski & Associates) to resolve the debt. The firm requested 10K to resolveand remove the final debt. We negotiated it to 7K and it was paid off in full on 9/15/15. The final debt was satisfied and released on this date.
