We moved to CO in 2009. At first, we attempted to maintain our high debt with along with a higher cost of living. Our income was reduced by approximately 50%. Our debt to income ratio was very high. We were no longer using a line of credit but unable to repay the debt we created prior to losing our jobs and stay on top of regular bills and the higher cost of living. We kept our car payments and student loan payments but filed bankruptcy against credit card debt. This debt was discharged under section 727 of title 11, United States Code (bankruptcy code. We no longer use credit cards and have since been able to establish savings.
