I wrote a letter to the credit agency and AXA informing them that the debt was invalid. I signed a sponsorship with AXA Advisors on May 25, 2015. Prior to this background I had never received any letters in the mail informing me of a judgment. During this time, I resided in Portland, Oregon and employed at The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. One of the benefits with the company was access to legal services. I wanted to see if I could use these legal services to resolve the credit issue on my background. Upon consultation, the lawyer suggested that he write a letter to the collection agency offering that I pay $900 instead of the full amount as I had full medical coverage at the time; this collection was for an emergency room visit. The lawyer drafted a letter on my behalf requesting that I pay $900 to resolve the matter. The lawyer said that when he received a response he would contact me. I had not heard back from the lawyer in regards to the collections agency accepting my payment of $900.00 therefore I never paid anything. I to this day have still never heard from the lawyer in regards to the matter. On October 12, 2015, I was notified by my office manager regarding a "wage garnishment." Up until last week I have not received any letters regarding the issue at my previous address on Portland, OR nor my current address in Honolulu, HI. All of my mail was forwarded to my sister's house and she placed it in a box. I have been busy with work and adjusting to the move. I went to my sisters' house yesterday after hearing of the garnishment to see if anything was sent and in the box of mail was the garnishment letter. It had been send to OR and forwarded to HI the date is 09/28/2015, I found it today 10/23/15.
