THE CLIENT RECEIVED AT LEAST SIX SERVICE MEETINGS OVER THE COURSE OF THREE YEARS AT WHICH THE ANNUITY WAS REVIEWED AND SHE WAS VERY AWARE OF THE SURRENDER CHARGES BECAUSE SHE RECEIVED A 2% UP FRONT BONUS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.

THEY ALSO QUESTIONED THE TAX IMPLICATIONS OF THE SURRENDER CHARGES THEY INCURRED. ADDITIONALLY, THEY CLAIMED THAT ALL OF THEIR MUTUAL FUND INVESTMENTS WERE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THEM IN REGARDS TO SALES CHARGES. LASTLY, THE CLIENTS ALLEGED THERE WERE DELAYS IN FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH REQUESTED TRANSACTIONS. Damage Amount Requested: $13,772.18 Settlement Amount: $2,234.99 Broker Comment: THE CLIENTS RECEIVED FULL DISCLOSURE ABOUT THE PRODUCTS THEY PURCHASED AND THE INVESTMENTS WERE SUITABLE. HOWEVER, DURING THIS INVESTIGATION, I HIRED AN ATTORNEY WHO CONTACTED THE CLIENTS AND TOLD THEM AEFA WAS PREPARED TO SETTLE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1000.00-$1500.00. THIS OFFER WAS NOT APPROVED BY THE FIRM. I RECEIVED A LETTER OF REPRIMAND FOR THIS VIOLATION OF COMPANY POLICY.
