(HIS) RECEIVED TWO COMPLAINTS FROM THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION (SEC) WHICH RELATE TO THE SAME COMPLAINANT, [CUSTOMER] (CUSTOMER). ALTHOUGH THE CONTENTS OF THE TWO COMPLAINTS ARE GENERALLY THE SAME, ONE COMPLAINT WAS SENT DIRECTLY TO THE SEC BY THE CUSTOMER AND THE SECOND COMPLAINT WAS FORWARDED TO THE SEC BY THE IL ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. THE COMPLAINTS ARE AGAINST BOTH HIS AND THE CUSTOMER'S FINANCIAL ADVISOR, EARLLINE L. DAVIS, A REGISTERED REPRESENTATIVE OF HIS. THE CUSTOMER ALLEGES THAT HE INFORMED HIS FINANCIAL ADVISOR, EARLLINE L. DAVIS, THAT HE WANTED TO INVEST $200,000.00 IN SOMETHING SAFE, WITHOUT RISK. THE CUSTOMER FURTHER ALLEGES THAT HIS FINANCIAL ADVISOR TOLD HIM UPON PURCHASING A $200,000.00 HARTFORD VARIABLE ANNUITY IN MAY 2007 THAT: (1) THE PRODUCT WOULD GIVE HIM A [GAIN] / [EARNINGS] OF $168,000 AT THE END OF 4 YEARS; (2) HE WOULD RECEIVE ABOUT $1,100.00 A MONTH AND (3) HE WOULD RECEIVE HIS INITIAL INVESTMENT AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT. ADDITIONALLY, THE CUSTOMER ALLEGES THAT HIS FINANCIAL ADVISOR TOLD HIM THAT IF HE TAKES THE MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS OF $1,100.00 THAT HIS EARNINGS WILL INCREASE EVEN MORE. THE CUSTOMER FURTHER CLAIMS THAT HE THOUGHT THAT HIS MONEY WAS SAFE AND BACKED BY AN INSURANCE COMPANY AND THAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD REPAY IT IN 10 YEARS. THE CUSTOMER CLAIMS EVERYTHING IS AT ISSUE. LASTLY, THE CUSTOMER IS ALLEGING THAT HE WANTS WHAT IS HIS AND HIS FAMILY'S AND IS CLAIMING EMOTIONAL AND FAMILY DISTRESS. Broker Comment: IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MS. DAVIS CONDUCTED NO WRONG DOING.
