THE LOSS WAS DIRECTLYRELATED TO THE OCTOBER 1987 THREE DAY CRASH. THE SALE OFUNCOVERED PUTS TO GENERATE INCOME AND BUY STOCKS UNDER THE MARKET WS A STRATEGY ENDORSED AT THE TIME BY SHEARSON. AFTER THEARBITRATION [CUSTOMER] REQUESTED WE REMAIN AS HIS FINANCIALCONSULTANTS AND WE REFUSED.
