SHE WAS GOING TO SCHOOL AND WORKING. WHEN WE GOT MARRIED I TOOK ON HER DEBTS (I HAD BEEN DEBT FREE EXCEPT MY CAR AND HOME.) THEN IT GREW AS SHE ATTENDED SCHOOL TO GET HER DEGREE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT. THE CREDIT CARDS WERE OUR EMERGENCY BACK-UPS FOR KIDS, DAYCARE, AND CAR BREAKDOWNS. MY WIFE IS NOW EMPLOYED FULL-TIME, BUT HER COLLEGE LOANS WERE ABOUT TO COME DUE AT $750/MO AND WE WERE AFRAID THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO PAY FOR CREDIT CARD AT $450/MO AND THE COLLEGE LOANS. I CALLED THE CREDIT COMPANY AND WE WERE ABLE TO COME TO TERMS BY SELLING OFF MY STOCK AND APPLYING OUR TAX RETURN. SINCE THAT TIME WE HAVE BEEN DEDICATED TO PAYING OFF OUR CREDIT CARDS AND DEBTS AND HAVE BEEN CAREFUL NOT TO ACCUMULATE ANY MORE.
