I GOT INTO A CAR WITH WHOM I THOUGHT WERE FRIENDS FOR A QUICK RIDE HOME FROM SCHOOL, I WAS UNAWARE I WAS ENTERING A STOLEN VEHICLE. FOUND OUT WHILE IN THE CAR BUT WAS TOO LATE AT THAT POINT & I NEVER MADE IT HOME. WE WERE STOPPED, I WAS ARRESTED. ULTIMATELY MY PLEA, CLEAN RECORD, STATUS IN SCHOOL AND AGE ALLOWED ME TO CHANGE THE FELONY STATUS TO AN " M " AND RECEIVE A LESSOR CHARGE WITH A SENTENCE OF PROBATION. THE AMENDED CHARGE TO A LESSOR CONVICTION ULTIMATELY ALLOWED ME TO GO ON TO COLLEGE AND GRADUATE AND HAVE A CAREER NOT BE AFFECTED BY AN EVENT THAT TOOK PLACE WHEN I WAS 17 YEARS OLD. EVEN THOUGH THIS CHARGE IS ALMOST 20 YEARS OLD I HAVE STARTED THE PROCESS TO EXPUNGE THIS RECORD TO CLEAN MY HISTORY FOR GOOD.
