MY WIFE BEGAN EXPERIENCING PREGNANCY COMPLICATIONS WITH OUR SECOND CHILD AND WAS PUT ON BED REST. SHE WORKED AS AN HOURLY EMPLOYEE WITHOUT PAID TIME OFF OR SHORT-TERM DISABILITY COVERAGE. AS A RESULT OF THE PREGNANCY COMPLICATIONS PRE AND POST-DELIVERY WE WENT 8 MONTHS WITHOUT HER INCOME. SOON AFTER DELIVERY WE HAD SUBSTANTIAL MEDICAL BILLS AND EXHAUSTED OUR EMERGENCY FUNDS AND RETIREMENT ASSETS KEEPING UP WITH DAILY EXPENSES AND MEDICAL BILLS. AFTER CONSULTING WITH AN ATTORNEY WE WERE ADVISED TO FILE BANKRUPTCY. WE ENTERED INTO A CHAPTER 13 REPAYMENT PLAN TO RESTRUCTURE AND PAY OUR DEBTS.
