Broker Comment: IN RESPONSE TO THE CUSTOMER CASE. BACK IN 1999, THE CLIENTS WANTED TO TAKE MONEY OUT OF THE IRA'S TO POSSIBLY TRADE FUTURES. I LOOKED INTO IT & RECOMMENDED AGAINST IT, SO HE STARTED TRADING WITH A FUTURES COMPANY. I DID LET HIM KNOW IF HE WANTED TO GET MORE AGGRESSIVE THEY COULD GET INVOLVED IN OUR IPO & SYNDICATE MARKET. THE CLIENTS CAME IN & I EXPLAINED THE PROCESS, THAT IT WAS RISKY & THERE WERE NO GUARANTEES. THEY WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS IN THE SUMMER OF 1999. THE CLIENTS WANTED TO TAKE SOME OF THE PROFITS & DIVERSIFY INTO MOTOROLA OR LUCENT. SO WE DIVERSIFIED & BOUGHT 2 POSITIONS IN LUCENT - EACH LOT WAS 100 SHARES. ALL THE SYNDICATED STOCKS WERE RECOMMENDED BY PRUDENTIAL. I HAD LUNCH WITH CUSTOMER IN AUGUST OF 2000. HE KNEW THAT ALL THE INVESTMENTS WERE DOWN. HE DIDN'T STATE ANYTHING WAS WRONG. HE ALSO SAID THEY LOST A LOT OF MONEY IN HIS FUTURES ACCOUNT. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2000 WE BOUGHT MORE OF THE STOCKS, IN HIS ACCOUNT, AT THE LOWER PRICES. THIS PART OF THE IRA'S IS ABOUT 10% OF THEIR INVESTMENTS. I HAVE KNOWN THE CLIENTS FOR 12 YEARS.
