Broker Comment: After my promotion to VP of Investments-Financial Advisor Associate in July 2010, I looked up a few advisors personal accounts, although it wasn't for a business need, but a personal one. Each month we were provided a list of each advisors monthly gross commissions, and I was interested in seeing what the tiered payouts net of concession, dealer fees, and taxes would be. I went about getting that information the wrong way by using the contact management system as it related to my pay and revenue goals.My curiosity got the best of me and I wasn't thinking about how my search was an invasion of privacy. I had no malicious intent in the search and I deeply regret my actions. I have learned a valuable, although costly, lesson.
