Broker Comment: THE LAST DIGIT ON THE ZIP CODE WAS CHANGED AND THAT CHANGE NEEDED TO BE INITIALED BY THE BORROWER'S FATHER BUT HE LIVED IN THE COUNTRY WITHOUT EMAIL OR FAX. THE BORROWER AND HER FATHER GAVE ME PERMISSION TO INITIAL IT SO SHE COULD CLOSE ON HER HOME IN TIME SO SHE WOULDN'T LOSE HER EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT. COWORKERS HAD TOLD ME IF I HAD THEIR PERMISSION AND THEN NOTED IT IN THE FILE THAT I WAS ABLE TO DO SO. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS WASN'T ACCURATE AND MADE A COSTLY MISTAKE AND I DIDN'T STAY COMPLIANT CAUSING WELLS FARGO HOME MORTGAGE TO TERMINATE ME. I BELIEVED I WAS ACTING IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CLIENT SO SHE WOULDN'T HAVE LOST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS BUT ULTIMATELY IT CAUSED ME TO NOT BE COMPLIANT.
