Date: January 29, 1987 Category: Criminal Charges: 1 COUNT FELONY SALE OF MARIJUANA, NO PLEA AS CASE DID NOT GO PAST THE PRELIMINARY HEARING Charge Type: FELONY Disposition: DISMISSED DUE TO ORDER/STATE'S MOTION TO DISMISS OLD CASE; 01/17/1996 Broker Comment: I WAS WITH A FRIEND ON OUR WAY TO PLAY POOL WHEN HE SAID HE HAD TO RUN AN ERRAND. WE STOPPED AT A LOCAL CONVENIENCE STORE AND MY FRIEND SAID HE WAS GOING TO MAKE SOME MONEY, BUT DIDN'T ELABORATE. WE WAITED A FEW MINUTES FOR HIS "FRIEND" TO ARRIVE. THIS PERSON APPROACHED THE VEHICLE, MY FRIEND ASKED ME TO HAND HIM WHAT WAS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT AND I PULLED OUT A PLASTIC BAG AND HANDED IT TO HIM. HE OPENED IT AND IT APPEARED TO HAVE MARIJUANA IN IT. MY FRIEND'S "FRIEND" WAS A POLICE OFFICER, AND WE WERE ARRESTED. WE WERE ARRAIGNED THE FOLLOWED DAY, THE JUDGE EXPLAINED THAT WE HAD BEEN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. HE INFORMED US OF POSSIBLE PENALTIES AND LET US KNOW THAT THE STATE HAD 72 HOURS TO FILE CHARGES. WE WERE SENT TO THE MARICOPA COUNTY JAIL AND WERE RELEASED AT THE END OF THE 72-HOUR PERIOD.
