RR Linda Jones that [Customer] liquidate certain securities assets to purchase a fixed annuity issued by Bankers Life and Casualty Company. [Third Party] alleges that RR Jones' recommendation was not suitable as [Customer] utilizes the securities account from which the assets were sold to regularly access funds/income. The complaint further alleges there is no justified tax basis for reallocating the funds from securities to a fixed annuity product. Damage Amount Requested: $20,000.00 Broker Comment: Bankers Life and Casualty Company reviewed the customer complaint and determined that the fixed annuity purchase to be suitable based on the financial status, goals, and objectives of the customer, principally the customer's stated desire to remove a portion of their portfolio from stock market risk. The customers were given 30-day free look period to evaluate the benefits and terms of the policy, during which time the customers did not exercise their right to cancel the policy.
