Termination Type: Discharged Allegations: The Firm initiated a review when it appeared that Mr. Louison altered a document containing a plan of supervision relating to his outside business activity. During the review, it was confirmed that he altered the document. As a result, he was terminated. Broker Comment: For multiple years, I wrote and was paid for writing a weekly fantasy football article online. My company approved the activity.When my company changed course on the fee-based writing and decided to no longer approve the outside business activity, I complied. On a document confirming that I had ceased writing articles for a fee though, I added a clarifying sentence that I will write blogs on their site, which are unpaid and therefore not under the umbrella of outside business activities. Essentially, I wanted to ensure they wouldn't find something written by me, assume I was paid for it, and fire me.Instead, they fired me for adding that sentence, calling it "altering a compliance document".
