Date: July 03, 2014 Category: Financial Type: Bankruptcy Disposition: SIPA Trustee Appointed Broker Comment: I sold the company StormChief in 2013 when I went to work for the Knights. We were selected for audit by the IRS for the company around the same time. During the audit a accounting error was discovered resulting in a large tax bill being due. I had sold the company, the buyers defaulted on the purchase. Under my attorney's advice we filed Chapter 13 and are currently halfway through the plan. The Bankruptcy was strictly a business matter and did not arise from personal debt whatsoever, but in Louisiana as an LLC we could not file bankruptcy without being personally attached to it. We still paid our personal debts, cars, loans etc separately from the bankruptcy. Our credit is still attached to it. It was a Chapter 13 which means we are paying the creditors, we did not liquidate and walk away.
