WHILE WE WERE MARRIED, WE HAD A HOME EQUITY LINE OF CREDIT IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 THAT MY EXHUSBAND STOPPED PAYING. (HIS INCOME WAS SUBSTANCIALLY HIGHER THAN MINE). I ALSO HAD LEGAL BILLS IN EXCESS OF $18,000.00 DUE TO THE DIVORCE THAT WAS AWARDED TO ME AS A JUDGEMENT THAT HE ALSO FAILED TO PAY. WHEN HE PASSED AWAY, THE BANK WAS SUEING ME FOR THE FULL AMOUNT, OF WHICH I DID NOT HAVE THE MEANS TO PAY. I HAVE A DEPENDENT AT HOME THAT WAS A FULL TIME STUDENT AND WAS NOT GETTING ANY CHILD SUPPORT OR ALIMONY AT THE TIME OF THE DIVORCE. I HAD NO OTHER OPTION AS THE BANK WAS GOING TO GARNISH MY WAGES.
