I had just made the final payments for a study abroad program through my school. I needed to complete this program in order to obtain my minor in Spanish. The program was about $4,000.00 + airfare. I had no financial contribution, so I worked to obtain a $1950.00 grant for the program and raised about $500.00 through GoFundMe. I had to cover the rest of the trip out of pocket, so this put me in a financial bind. I still needed to purchase mandatory items for the program, and was pressured to take the items as a solution to my lack of funds/resources. I acted selfishly and recklessly, and out of character. I am not proud of this day and will never forget the worst decision of my life. I was not convicted and all charges were expunged.
